Serenoa Repens
This is a palm tree that grows in southern Atlantic coast of the USA, in southern Europe and North Africa. This small palm (no more than 3 meters high) produces red berries. The extract of Serenoa is rich in fatty acids, phytosterols, tannins and other oils. The main action of this extract is to counteract the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase, responsible for hair loss and excessive production of sebum.
Numerous clinical studies conducted in recent years have demonstrated the effectiveness of Serenoa repens extract, especially combining cosmetics and supplements that contain this active free of side effects.
